History
Ernõ Rubik was born in 1944 in Budapest, Hungary.When he grew up he became an architect, designer and a professor. In 1974 Ernõ invents the first prototype of the Rubik cube. In 1980 the "magic cube" is renamed the Rubik's cube. In 1982 the first International Rubik’s Championships are held in Budapest, Hungary. By now over 100 million cubes have now been sold. In 2005 the Rubik's Cube celebrates its 25th birthday in July. Ernõ Rubik is now retired but the but his company is still designing games and new inventions related to the Rubik's cube.  | |
