Roman Numerals

Hello! My name is Owen. I will teach you a little about Rome. First, we will learn about Roman Numerals.

Roman Numerals use letters for numbers. For example, I stands for one. V stands for five. X stands for ten. L stands for fifty. C stands for one hundred. D stands for five hundred, M is one thousand, and any higher numbers have a numeral and a line over top.

To make number other than the one digit numerals, you stick other numbers either in front or behind the base or main number. For example, to make the number four, you do IV. A number in front makes the main number smaller. A number after makes the base number larger LX is then sixty. More complex numbers are fifty-nine, LIX, eighty-seven, LXXXVII.
